How the design community is dealing with what we are going through today?
I personally believe this goes beyond the so called "Digital Transformation" that most of us already knew.
I think it is also the "Evolution of Values." Most of what we once considered -- essential, beneficial, luxury, meaningful will be redefined Post Covid by the fact that people have now realised "life is fragile." I think it is more important than ever for artists and designers to create meaningful footprints with much broader aspects.
What are your personal experiences?
Tough! I thought as an introvert --- I should glide through this period smoothly. But it is not just staying at home ---I need to take care of my staffs and try to navigate them through the shifting creative world as well. On one hand, it is fun because I believe creative people should always transform themselves constantly --- and that includes the way we operate business, our mindsets, our skills etc. On the other hand, now we are forced to jumped into the same (red) digital ocean and for me I don't enjoy swimming in the ocean, but rather a quirky inflated plastic pond.
How you see what will be coming after?
What I will becoming after? -- A chef maybe --- since I have been cooking at home ferociously.
As for the industry, I think if human race are left with social distancing routine for more than a year, then the world is forever changed.
Some people said this is like the Spanish Flu which took people 2 years to gain back confidence for going outside. But for me, internet and social networks weren't invented during that period; therefore, I am expecting to see the Digital Renaissance happening right after. As gloomy as it is now, I believe exciting creative revolution is on the way.
First I gotta make sure to stay alive until then!
