“The virus has transformed our daily lives. We are forced to reconsider not only the physical distance between one another, but also our view towards society in general. Now we value our time with family and friends even more, it makes me reflect on the psychological distance between people as well as the relationship between objects and ourselves.
There are many things that designers can do here. For example, on top of using materials such as woods and metals that have supported our lives for a long time, the use of sustainable materials – such as thinned woods and biodegradable plastics – is getting of more importance.
We must turn this into an opportunity to contemplate what the genuine richness is about to us.”
