Audible Furniture is a collection of furniture with sound, a study in mechanically produced sound and its application on furniture. The collection consists of a wall mounted cabinet, a rocking stool and a low chair which all make their individual sounds when used. Each sound is created through a specific mechanical motion which in its turn defines the form and function of the piece. The form follows the motion that produces the sound. The strictly mechanical and function based construction is turned into something intangible through human interaction and gives the piece a lifelike character.
